Review: Zoggs girl baby wrap

I always wanted to take L swimming but when the time and the weather is right for us. As I have been in our local swimming pool before I know that the water is quite cold there and for me it was very important that L stays warm in the water.

Thankfully Allens of Kingsbury swimwear specialist were kind enough to offer L Zoggs girl baby wrap to review.

Allen's of Kingsbury is a family run business that has been run by the Allen family and their relations for over 35 years. There are three separate companies who share the Allens of Kingsbury name, all of which are completely independent businesses, run by separate members of the Allen family – a fishing tackle business, a printing business and of course ourselves, who specialise in supplying swimwear, from accessories to top-of-the-range racing competition suits.

I have opted for a pink with blue rim neoprene baby wrap for 6-12 months (£18.50) which had plenty room to grow.

Baby wrap is very nice, light and soft to touch and it didn't look like L was restricted in moved when was wearing it and doesn't leave any irritation on a skin.
The wrap has velcro fastening in the middle, at the bottom and at the top which makes it very easy to put on no matter how small or big your baby is (adjustable fit).
When L tried in on for the first time I was very surprised that her body feels so warm as I wasn't sure that it will work, but it does keep her warm.

Putting baby wrap on: as it opens up fully I have tried putting it on L when she was lying (lay the baby, put the flap through the legs, wrap each core torso side which will secure the bottom and middle part and put the shoulder straps over) and sitting. I found that it is a little bit easier to adjust the velcro straps when L was sitting as you can see how comfortable she is and if it's tight anywhere.

The very first time we took L to the swimming pool was at the Bluestone Wales, where water warm but as I like to be on a safe side I kept the neoprene baby wrap on her but I know some mums prefer to take it off if the water is warm. L was wearing a swim nappy underneath which gives her a full protection from any accidents in the water. We have spent about 40-45 minute in the water and L seemed calm and not cold at all.

It is recommended not to wash the baby wrap in a washing machine and not to tumble dry, just to rinse in cold water, dry in a shade.

Overall, I'm quite happy with the neoprene baby wrap and will be using it every time L goes swimming.

  1. This looks fab. MM had something similar when she was smaller and it meant I had a much better grip on her which was really reassuring! #triedtested

  4. It sounds like a good options. I used to take Little F for 'swimming lessons' since he was 4 months, but they changed schedule and the lessons now fall during his naps.
I wanted to take him to a normal pool, but the water is too cold for him to stay longer than 20 minutes. I'll have to look into getting this wrap.
