Review: Ravensburger- My First Floor Puzzle Peppa Pig

I have always been a big fan of puzzles for kids and in the last 3,5 years L has played with all sort of puzzles apart from Ravensburger floor puzzles, which for some reasons we were unconsciously avoiding.

Couple of weeks ago we have received our first ever Ravensburger's My First Floor Puzzle (suitable from 2 year old) with main Peppa Pig cartoon characters (£8.99).

For those who don't know Ravensburger is "a famous jigsaw company dedicated to promoting fun, learning and family togetherness – important values in today's fast-paced, tech-driven world. While having endless hours of playing fun with our innovative products, children learn to think ahead, to accept losing graciously and to follow directions".
The puzzle is made of large cardboard pieces, with overall 16 pieces each of them is about an adult's hand size. Colours are vibrant and pictures are clear enough for a 3 year old to look at. Even though pieces are large they are lightweight and very easy to hold and play with.

When we have opened the puzzle for the first time I thought that it would be better if I get involved, explain to L how she can connect images from the puzzle and what characters/objects she needs to look for each time. The next day L was able to play with the puzzle unaided and by observing the pictures she knew what to look for by herself!
There is no particular order to L's way of connecting puzzles, I like to start with corners and either to move to a side or down but L prefers to pick a random puzzle piece and work around it, and as Ravensburger's My First Floor Puzzle is only made of 16 large pieces it is easy enough to do.
L likes the principle of finding the right puzzle, looking for familiar characters and would be happy to do the puzzle over and over again (3 times in a row to be precise). I am hoping that we can extend the play time and be able to talk about what we see or create a story what Peppa Pig and her friends are up to, maybe next time!

Festive fun with the new range from L.O.L. Surprise

This Christmas L has requested few presents from Santa and even though she received everything she requested, some of these toys have been neglected ever since apart from her favourite collectible L.O.L. Surprise and a new addition to her collection L.O.L. Surprise! Pets.
L has a massive obsession with cats so we were secretly hoping that the surprise pet would be a cat!

The new collectible series comes with an awesome accessory addition- litter tray with kinetic sand!
L.O.L. Surprise! Pets have 7 surprise layers, each layer reveals: a clue, stickers for collector's poster, accessories and of course the toy itself, with this new range the toy also comes with a litter tray with sand and a scooper which will help you to reveal yet another surprise.

Receiving L.O.L. Surprise! Pets and L.O.L. Surprise dolls was a highlight of L's Christmas day (mine too to be honest). I was a little reluctant at first as wasn't sure a new series can beat gorgeously cute L.O.L. Surprise dolls and even collector's leaflet doesn't do it's justice- L.O.L. Surprise! Pets are adorable!
Just like the original series pets are robust enough to last, they may change the colour, do a wee or spit the water out as well as move their paws. L.O.L. Surprise! Pets range consists of cats, puppies, rabbits and hamsters. The litter tray which comes with a lid and a scoop can be used as a sand mould creating a cute pattern on a sand which can be played with on its own or with a pet. From what I have gathered the colour of the sand and it's accessories is dependent on the type of the pet.
If you are not very familiar with magic aka kinetic sand- it has similar texture to normal sand but sand grains easily stick to each other which allows to create different shapes and figures.

And here is a big reveal: if you dig deep you can find pet's shoes hidden in the sand-what an adventure for a L.O.L. Surprise obsessed child!

As always L.O.L. Surprise! Pets are suitable from the age of 3 and available at major toy stores (Smyths, Entertainer, Argos etc.) for £9.99.
