Ozeri blood pressure monitor review

I remember the first time I was about to pass out or even passed out (I don't remember much from that day) was at my dad's funeral (he died from heart attack at the age of 42) when I was only 8 year old.

Since then I remember my mum taking me to different doctors, lots and lots of tests, monitoring due to me having mitral valve collapsed (Themitral valve separates the upper left heart chamber from the lower left heart chamber, and helps control blood flow through the heart), then high blood pressure and closer to my 20's I had bradycardia (slow heart rate). My mum was always there to remind me of my routine checks and measure my blood pressure as she had bought a blood pressure monitor earlier for herself as well, but now I moved out and ..

Thanks to Ozeri I am an owner of my personal Automatic Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor (£19.95, you can purchase from Amazon).

OzeriCardioTech Pro Series Digital Blood Pressure Monitor:

* Portable, accurate, and simple-to-use with clinically proven technology.
*New MWI (Measure While Inflate) technology automatically inflates to the appropriate level (no adjustments required) while reducing measurement time.
*Stores 180 blood pressure readings (90 x 2 users) with date and time recordings.
*Automatic Irregular heartbeat (Arrhythmia) detection and WHO Hypertension Indicator.
*Push-button access to Average blood pressure calculation.

It is compact and if you need to travel somewhere won't take much space. I also compared readings with GP's monitor and it's pretty much the same +- few digits.
Overall, happy with the monitor and will use it on a frequent basis.
Disclamer: Ozeri has kindly sent me blood pressure monitor for the purpose of a review. All views and opinions are honest and my own.

The Cussons Mum & Me Bump Gift bag review

                                                                                  Source

The Cussons Mum & Me Bump Gift bag contains 4 products from the Bump range to nurture and nourish you through the ups and downs of every day, whilst helping to keep you feeling and looking great”.

I had Mum & Me gift bag since I started nesting for future pregnancy and baby. I started using gift bag itself for make up, it has 2 inner pockets, 1 big section for main bits,1 zip outside pocket and a small handle on one of the sides.

Unfortunately, some of the items in the pack I don’t normally buy or use so I tried to find a way of using them as well:

Relax and Unwind Bath Soak (100ml)Contains Camomile known to calm and relax, whilst the added moisturisers and milk proteins help to care for your skin. Soak amongst the gentle bubbles to help you to unwind at the end of the day“.

I’m not a big fan of soaking and as far as I know during pregnancy you cant do that anyway (maybe I’m wrong), so I use it as a shower gel.

Relax and Unwind Sleep Mist (100ml)- Contains Camomile and Lavender known to help you to relax and unwind, so you can gently drift off to sleep“.

I used it once before going to bed and it was the first and the last time. As I am very sensitive to all sorts of smells at the moment I felt uncomfortable, fragrance was a bit annoying for me, plus my husband has asthma and I was worried that it will irritate him as well. It didn’t really relax and it didn’t really soothe me to sleep, therefore we started using it as a toilet spray.

Soothe and Nourish Body Lotion (100ml)– Contains a blend of Avocado, Almond and Grapeseed oils to help hydrate and moisturise, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple. Also contains Allantoin that can help to relieve itchy skin, especially over your bump! “

I used it after shower, smells nice and moisture my skin.

Smooth & Glow Pregnancy Shampoo (100ml)–Contains Almond Oil and Pro-Vitamin B5 known to help nourish and moisturise hair leaving it softer, smoother and easier to manage“ .

It is soapy, smells really nice and I would definitely buy a bigger pack (300 ml).

It is a great gift pack, the average price £15.99.

Would I recommend it to fellow mums-to-be- YES!

Pregnancy update 17 weeks

Visible changes in my body: for the past few weeks it feels like my belly is more wobbly, which makes me think that I look overweight rather than pregnant; plus I have noticed that most of the time have dry lips, I just always bite them

How do I feel: headaches are gone (touch wood); and I feel less sick, the only time I feel sick or vomit is before we go to bed; also still have increased sense of smell, but its not so bad any more comparing to what it was before

Cravings: still none

My family's attitude towards pregnancy: my mother always worries about me- what I eat, what do I wear, in what position do I sit etc.; my family-in-law - parents and older sister-in-law they how do I feel, do I feel baby kicking etc., but the younger sister-in-law never asked me any questions, she even forgot the date of our dating scan.

My feeling about family attitude- my mum sometimes is overprotective and it can be annoying at times but she didn’t have proper experience with my elder sister, when she was pregnant so I do understand her; my in-laws they give me attention, ask questions, but the fact that younger one is being ignorant surprises me a lot, my husband tells me that she is possibly too young (23) to bother about things like that..i do not know, but it bothers me..

Baby: At 17 weeks pregnant baby’s limbs and vital organs are now fully formed so s\he will just continue growing in size. S\he will be growing eyebrows and eyelashes and maybe even some hair on her\his head.
S\he will also be very active now – babies at this stage like to kick, punch and turn around in the uterus. S\he can hear and respond to noises outside the uterus.

Where your family relatives attentive towards you and bump?

Beware neighbours..

Do you know what I'm dreaming of? I'm dreaming to live in piece and quiet, to have respectful neighbours (hereafter "N") and ideally to have my own home.

This morning I have been woken up by some noise coming from outside, as by nature I'm interested in things around me, I looked through the window and saw lots of wires lying in our front garden, my first thought- "N".

So I went downstairs to make some breakfast and tea while looking through the window onto our back garden, what I saw surprised me a lot. I saw our "N" walking casually into our garden and moving our dust bins out of her way. At that point I opened the window to ask whats going on and to remind them that its trespassing. I was incredibly surprised to hear that our garden is a communal area and as the owner of the property they have access to our garden if they need to do any works, she apologised and said that next time will let us know of any works and just carried on doing her own thing in our garden.

At that point I felt that I am like a boiling kettle, that something is not right here, that what they are doing is wrong regardless of her apologising for intrusion. Without hesitation I called our estate agency to speak with agent who told me to tell "N" to go away (my initial thought and reaction to everything I saw in the garden), I thought that it will be better if the agent will tell it to "N" herself as our representative, so I passed on the phone to "N". While "N" had conversation with agent contractor told me that "N" said that she sorted everything with us and we knew that they are coming which wasn't a case.

Anyway, after "N"passed me the phone back agent told me that in the "N"  Owner Deeds says that they have access and its communal area (which makes me wonder how on earth we never been told about this, I'm sure we have a right to know these things). Basically we cant do anything about it but ideally they need to let us know of any works before hand.

When I put the phone down I started thinking what will follow after all these..we are not mates with our "N" due to noise nuisance issues we have had before. Last year I had to knock on their door at 4 am as we couldn't sleep because we could hear noises and laughter coming from their house, so when I knocked on the door she started swearing, telling me that if you don't like it move out or call the police..in the morning as she still was unhappy that I interrupted them she started banging on the walls, on our front door ( I know that she did it on purpose, not a coincidence).
I am terrified, scared even to think about our upcoming weekend, and how they can “punish” us again for complaining. As a tenant I feel absolutely helpless against an owner of the property.

You cant even imagine how I want this nightmare to end, not to be forced to go to spare room as they having an argument or being loud, to wake up or fall asleep not hearing them at all, to look in the garden and not seeing them there (3 occasion of their trespassing without notifying us), I want piece and quiet for us 3...

My 28th birthday!

Yesterday it was my 28th birthday and our 16 weeks antenatal appointment.

I think I have changed a lot since I found out I am pregnant with our first baby. From me not quite understanding what is going on and being scared of upcoming changes I matured into a person carrying for a new life inside me, I am calmer, more emotional when it comes to baby chats (I guess due to hormones), every night I fall asleep by placing my hand on my belly. It feels great!

I had lots of attention and presents from my new and old family (including lots of clothes from New look maternity range), but the best present ever was the moment when we heard our baby's heartbeat. I felt so relieved and happy at the same time and very tearful!

Did you feel the same way or was it different for you?

My photo report of the day:

Can you guess who gave me this one?)
