I
can't call myself a healthy eater if fit, but I certainly try to do
my best.
I
have tried numerous diets, tablets, milk shakes, some of them helped
me to shift weight the others were a waste of my time, health and
money. My main motivations always were men (unfortunately) or
clothes.
I
always accepted myself the way I am up until I met someone or went
shopping with girls and managed to fit in 1 outfit out of 8 I had in
my changing room (maybe that's why I hate shopping).
I
used to go to gyms, I even had few different personal fitness
instructors, one was paying attention or chatting to others more than
me and second one was too handsome (but I managed to start
concentrating on my exercise routine than him) and maybe clueless, as
I blame him for putting on muscle weight and not loosing weight.
Few
years ago we bought a treadmill, which I think to date is the best
fitness investment we have made. We placed it under the stairs so
that we can always remind ourselves what we need to do some
exercising. I have started using it well before being pregnant and
continue using it at the moment- instead of running I am now walking
on a treadmill every day for at least 20-25 minutes. I'm not on a
diet, but after my sickly 1st trimester loosing few pounds motivated
me to stay fit throughout pregnancy and to try and gain only baby
weight.
I
thought that treadmill every day is not enough, every weekend we
drive to the park to have a long walk there and once a week we go
swimming.
I
don't remember if I ever was motivated that much, the fact that I
want to be healthy& fit for myself and baby is the best
motivation I could think of.
Plus
I guess the fact that I didn't have any cravings helped as well :-)
I
thoroughly enjoy my new way of life (even though I know it will
change when little L comes to the world) and would recommend it to
any pregnant lady or her partner.

ReplyDeleteI wish that I had been better at looking after myself when I was pregnant, but to use an overused excuse... I never felt like I had the time! I would finish work and just want to watch TV or try to eat without being sick haha. Good for you for being so dedicated to it tho!

ReplyDeleteSo great that you are keeping fit for yourself and the baby :) I have to say I totally agree with you, we also bought a treadmill a few years back and it has been the best fitness investment we've made. Only we put ours in front of the TV because I find walking / running so darn boring :)
ReplyDeletesometimes the simpler less 'scary' forms of exersise are the best, like going for walks etc because there's very little guilt involved, you don't need to dress specially for it and best of all ..it's free!
