Review: Pampers Baby-Dry Pants

Nappies are one of the most used baby products in many households. Before L was born we bought 10 packs of nappies to last us a month, which wasn't too expensive comparing how much we pay now for them in a bigger size.
Put the price aside it's all about quality and comfort and Pampers as a one of the top nappy brands promises to protect our babies bums.

We were sent a pack of Pampers Baby- Dry pants in size 4 worth £5 for a pack of 23 pants.
Pampers Baby- Dry pants have extra absorbent layer, extra breathable, provide up to 12 hours of dryness and all-round stretch material.
I was looking forward to testing Baby-Dry pants as they are incredibly useful if L won't sit still whilst changing her nappy. We have tried pull ups before, it was a trial purchase to see if you can use pants nappies on a daily basis, but I have decided against  the supermarket's own brand as they were a bit too tight and L had nappy rash few times.
When L saw Pampers Baby-Dry pants pack for the first time she was very excited, the pack has an easy carry handle and for an excitable toddler it was a fun "bag" to play with.

Pull up pants themselves will surprise you with their unique design:
-cartoon image at the front

-tear down sides and

a small tape attached at the back for easy disposal.

Whilst the design is innovative it took me a while to get used to a tear away method of changing these nappies. When it comes to soiled nappies I take L to the bathroom to take the nappy off and to wash her bum. I normally would be holding L with one arm and detach the nappy straps with the other, which is a fairly easy process, with new Pampers Baby-Dry pants I worry that if I tear away the sides I can drop some of the contents of the nappy on the floor.
I must be so used to "normal" nappies that every time L wears Pampers pants I think if they are comfortable and stretchy enough for her. Having said that L didn't have any red marks as a sign that they fit perfectly fine, which is great! But not only that, they keep L's bum dry as claimed on the packaging for 12 hours and don't irritate her skin or leave a nappy rash!

L and I give thumbs up for Pampers Baby-Dry pants and recommend them not only for toddlers ready for potty training but for active, wriggly babies who don't like hassle of nappy changing!

Pampers Pooface video celebrates that hilarious baby face!

When L was little we were very surprised to find out that her funny faces and noises are always followed by a loud wind or poo. I also didn't know that facial expressions and red eyebrows are like signs telling us if she has a soiled nappy.

New award-winning #PampersPooface video celebrates that hilarious baby face and empowers parents not to fear the mess!

Research reveals that 9 in 10 UK parents wouldn’t leave the house without a pack of Baby Wipes.

Today, new research conducted by Pampers with more than 1,000 UK parents, has revealed the extent of parents’ love forBaby Wipes as the remedy to quickly clean up all types of baby mess. With 9 in 10 UK parents admitting they can’t leave the house without a pack of Wipes, Pampers study is undoubtedly reflective of just how many messy moments babies and toddlers find themselves in. To bring the research to life, Pampers has created an award-winning video, which has recently received three Cannes Lions Awards. It features gorgeous babies Joey, Elin, Daniel and Myla to highlight those adorable poo faces that every baby pulls, which all parents know signals that a wipes moment is not far away!

The survey sheds light on what baby mess situations parents fear the most – with nappy mess topping the list for half of parents, closely followed by the 4 in 10 parents who fear baby food mess the most. Additionally, the findings have uncovered the different attitudes of mums and dads when it comes to baby mess, with three fifths (60%) of dads fearing nappy mess the most compared to just two fifths of mums. The survey also revealed the top uses of baby wipes; for 9 in 10 parents it was wiping their baby’s bottoms (91%) and 8 in 10 parents use wipes to wipe their baby’s face.

Dr Tabi Leslie, consultant dermatologist and member of Pampers’ Love, Sleep & Play Panel says, “Pampers’ research has shown that the vast majority of parents are using Baby Wipes and that they are being used most frequently to clean up baby’s skin. That’s why I would ask parents to consider how delicate and sensitive their baby’s skin is and try to choose products specifically designed for them. Pampers Wipes have been dermatologically accredited by the Skin Health Alliance meaning that that are kind to your little one’s skin. They are proven to be milder than cotton wool and water for gentle cleaning.”

Paolo Haeusermann, Brand Manager for Pampers, Northern Europe says “We are really excited to launch our fun and light hearted video which celebrates and dramatises that adorable baby pooface which is an instantly recognisable and comical moment for all parents! We know that being a parent involves a lot of messy moments, but whatever that red face might lead too, with Pampers Wipes a clean baby is just a wipe away!”
In combination with the release of the research, Pampers is unveiling its new triple award-winning #Pamperspooface video onYouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrrnC62X6eA for all parents to celebrate and enjoy those adorable red cheeks, intense stares, double chins and grimacing mouths!

10 step baby yoga with Pampers

As L used to go to baby massage I have never thought about taking L to baby yoga not because I'm lazy I just didn't see how it can help us. Recently we were contacted by Pampers who offered us to try some baby yoga moves with Pampers active fit nappies and a very cute personalised babygrow.
We are a long way from perfecting baby yoga moves but it was fun!
Pampers, together with Baby Yoga expert, Sam Petter, have developed a new, natural baby yoga routine, with simple-to-follow
stretches that you and your little one can have fun practicing at home. And with benefits including helping to improve sleep,
digestion and reduce wind, you can enjoy a lovely bonding experience together that’s doing some good too.

Plus, Pampers is offering you the chance to win a free pack of Active Fit nappies when you share your precious pictures of your
little one showing of their moves.

Pampers Premium Protection™ Active Fit, have stretchier sides than ordinary nappies as well as a unique extra absorbent layer that speeds away wetness from delicate skin, so your little one gets our best protection no matter how they bend, twist and turn. As your sleepy little lamb wakes up, and becomes a little explorer discovering the world in their own way, you want the reassurance that an uncomfortable damp nappy won’t hinder their freedom of movement.

Visit facebook.com/PampersUKIre or tweet @Pampers_UK and use #PampersBabyYoga to be in with the chance of winning a pack of new Pampers Active Fit. See facebook.com/PampersUKIre for T&Cs.

Yoga stretches your baby’s whole body, leaving them relaxed and happy. It also helps progress key developmental skills such as footplay, coordination, and balance and it can help strengthen your bond and communication with your little one.

This is a big workout for your little one, so go gently at first, reading your baby’s signals and mood with every step. Never force the movements and stop if your baby is not happy.

Start of with just a couple of repetitions, increasing length and duration as you learn together.

#Babysleep skype session with Jo Tantum and Pampers

Couple of weeks ago I have mentioned that I had a very inspiring and exciting chat with Jo Tantum- UK's No1 baby sleep expert and a Pampers representative Cathy (I'm sorry if I got it wrong).

The very first time I've heard about Jo was at the NEC Baby Show 2014 when my husband and I were strolling around trying to find bargains. I remember the announcement that the UK leading sleeping expert Jo Tantum will be answering questions soon but I didn't pay attention as I assumed that we won't have any problems with sleep (shows my lack of experience with babies, again!).

Almost 9 months later I was offered an opportunity to "meet" Jo, couldn't miss it this time so I jump at the chance!

Prior to the chat I was a little bit worried/nervous as saw that L is getting tired which meant that she could start crying at any point or would be a grumpy little madam.

In total we had around 15 minutes, during the first part Jo answered some of my questions and suggested how we should change the routine during the day and night. After the chat I was a little bit upset that no one ever suggested to me or said similar things, was upset because I felt as if I'm letting myself and L down. Eventually I pulled myself together and started acting.

Here are Jo's pearls of wisdom:
  1. Babies like routine
  2. A baby similar age should be awake 12 hours and asleep for 12 hours a day, meaning if a baby wakes up at 8:30am s/he needs to go to sleep at 8:30pm
  3. The best routine 7am/7pm, unfortunately it doens't suit our household as my husband leaves for work at 8 and I prefer to sleep so we adjusted the routine with waking up at 8:30 ish
  4. Baby should sleep only in the cot, no toys, no cushions, no entertainment in the cot. Sleeping in different places confuses baby. (As L slept on me during the day or in the carry cot by my side and it took me 2 hours to call L down as she was in a playful mood in the evening)
  5. During the day L should have naps every 2 hours
  6. To breastfeed L when awake after night, at 11am, between 2pm and 3pm, before bed time (1 hour before giving solids)
  7. To feed every 4 hours
  8. Prior to nap time close all the curtains in the room, ideally to have blackout curtains, put a sleeping bag on, soothe baby with patting and say "Shhh" and eventually baby will fall asleep
  9. Keep nap time calm and quiet
  10. Be consistent, if baby doesn't want to settle stay with a baby for few days and then move away gradually
  11. No feeding to sleep
  12. No breastfeeding at night and it will stop so many night wakings
  13. If baby wakes up grumpy try to soothe first to see if they can nod off again rather than pick up straight away
  14. Always attend a baby if crying
During the second part of the chat Pampers representative demonstrated how other nappy brands differ from Pampers baby-dry.
Pampers Baby-Dry contain a unique combination of elements that work together to offer up to 12 hours of dryness. An Embossed Top Layer pulls liquid away quickly to keep your baby’s bottom dry, whilst the Extra Sleep Layer acts as a barrier to stop the liquid coming back to your baby’s skin.
And Pampers special Micro Pearls™ absorb up to 30 times their weight, locking in liquid better than ordinary nappies.
Pampers Baby-Dry nappies contain extra absorbent Micro Pearls™, so you can be reassured that a wet nappy won’t be the cause of a disturbed night’s sleep.

We have been following Jo's advice these few weeks and our day nap massively improved since L sleeps only in the cot. I'm working on improving night sleep, but I do not mind that L stays with me as it guarantees that I won't need to fully wake up and can instantly soothe L when needed. I have recently dropped breastfeeding at night but as we are at the teething stage at the moment it is not going well. The only positive is that a wet nappy won’t be the cause of a disturbed night sleep for L.
