Review: Pampers Baby-Dry Pants

Nappies are one of the most used baby products in many households. Before L was born we bought 10 packs of nappies to last us a month, which wasn't too expensive comparing how much we pay now for them in a bigger size. 

Put the price aside it's all about quality and comfort and Pampers as a one of the top nappy brands promises to protect our babies bums.

We were sent a pack of Pampers Baby- Dry pants in size 4 worth £5 for a pack of 23 pants. 

Pampers Baby- Dry pants have extra absorbent layer, extra breathable, provide up to 12 hours of dryness and all-round stretch material.
I was looking forward to testing Baby-Dry pants as they are incredibly useful if L won't sit still whilst changing her nappy. We have tried pull ups before, it was a trial purchase to see if you can use pants nappies on a daily basis, but I have decided against  the supermarket's own brand as they were a bit too tight and L had nappy rash few times.
When L saw Pampers Baby-Dry pants pack for the first time she was very excited, the pack has an easy carry handle and for an excitable toddler it was a fun "bag" to play with.

Pull up pants themselves will surprise you with their unique design:

-cartoon image at the front

-tear down sides and 

a small tape attached at the back for easy disposal.

Whilst the design is innovative it took me a while to get used to a tear away method of changing these nappies. When it comes to soiled nappies I take L to the bathroom to take the nappy off and to wash her bum. I normally would be holding L with one arm and detach the nappy straps with the other, which is a fairly easy process, with new Pampers Baby-Dry pants I worry that if I tear away the sides I can drop some of the contents of the nappy on the floor.
I must be so used to "normal" nappies that every time L wears Pampers pants I think if they are comfortable and stretchy enough for her. Having said that L didn't have any red marks as a sign that they fit perfectly fine, which is great! But not only that, they keep L's bum dry as claimed on the packaging for 12 hours and don't irritate her skin or leave a nappy rash!

L and I give thumbs up for Pampers Baby-Dry pants and recommend them not only for toddlers ready for potty training but for active, wriggly babies who don't like hassle of nappy changing!

Review: Mustela PhysiObébé no rinse cleansing water face and diaper area

In the last 15 months we have tried different baby wipes and baby toiletries, when Mustela offered to review fragranced cleansing water I couldn't resist to try something new.

PhysiObébé no rinse cleansing water face and diaper area (500ml bottle for £8.95 available to buy on Amazon) main ingredients are:

• "Avocado Perseose®: a patented natural ingredient that reinforces the skin barrier and preserves the cellular resource.
• Aloe vera extract: softens, soothes, hydrates and protects.
• Saponaria leaf and root extract: tones and cleanses.

My first impressions on the products were not positive as it has a very strong odour which reminds of something my dear nana would use. I have tested it on L' face first as it's for face and nappy area. It does clean, leaves the skin nice and soft but when I reached to kiss L after I applied Mustela PhysiObébé I instantly reached for soapy water to wash it off as L "stank" of the product.

I wouldn't personally use it or recommend using it on a face as I believe that parents would prefer to inhale child's/baby's own smell, I certainly prefer to do so.

Having said that I had completely different reaction when used Mustela PhysiObébé. As you know newborn soiled nappy doesn't smell of anything but once you start weaning everything changes! I applied PhysiObébé once I have changed her nappy, if I use head to toe wash or baby wipes it won't get rid off the smell where as Mustela PhysiObébé no rinse cleansing water "covers" the after smell, which is great! 

Overall, I would recommend this products for babies and parents who start weaning to use after every nappy change. Mustela PhysiObébé comes with a pump dispenser bottle cap which makes it much easier to use. I had a bottle without one and I can say that you waste more than you use without dispenser.

Nordic wipes review

When L was born I started to use water wipes but just few days later I have noticed that she has a nappy rash. I decided to use baby wipes when on the go and for day to day bum wiping to use well- known cotton wool and water. 

Few months ago I came across Nordic Wipes and thought that it's a great alternative to cotton wool.

It is very easy to use Nordic wipes just follow these easy steps:

- open the pack

- take the wipe out

- wet the wipe

- squeeze excess water if needed

- apply the wet wipe on your baby's skin

Wipes are made of soft foam and become even softer when wet and don't leave any irritations on baby's skin. Even though they are foam wipes when wiping nothing comes through and your fingers will be poo-free.

We have been cutting wipes into small strips or just torn bits for "topping and tailing" and at every nappy change, by doing so they lasted longer.
I wasn't brave enough to use them when out and about as recommended on the website, as I think it might get messy especially when changing area is lacking in space. 

The only minor concern I had was with storing the wipes, as from the moment you open a pack you can't put the wipes back in it's packaging, but if you can find a tin or a small box it won't be a problem. I have also noticed that over the time wipes became yellow- ish but this didn't affect it's properties.

Recommendations: as per my previous comment it would be great to see a range of products from wipes to storage boxes.

Sudocrem care & protect review

Before I got pregnant I didn't know much about nappy rash or how bad it could be for babies.

"Nappy rash is an irritation of the skin caused or aggravated by contact with wee and poo in a nappy. The rash starts with a slight reddening of the skin in the nappy area and can progress to soreness and discomfort".

When L was born for the first few weeks we used Sudocrem baby care cream (soothes and protects against nappy redness) but only when little one had a nappy rash caused by baby wipes.
We also tried to have as many nappy free time as possible, which worked but didn't solve the problem.
Few weeks ago we were sent Sudocrem care & protect cream (30g) to try and it changed everything!

Straight away I have noticed the difference in textures: Sudocrem baby care cream has more thicker texture where as Sudocrem care & protect is lighter. I was a little bit skeptical at first as wasn't sure that the cream "stays" on the skin as it's so light.

We started using Sudocrem care & protect on a daily basis, and it seems that L doesn't mind it at all, normally she would hate anything to do with changing clothes or nappies.

How we use it
Every nappy change I either use baby wipes (last resort) or use cotton wool and water to wipe her bum and legs. Gently dab her skin with a small towel, squeeze a little drop of a cream onto my finger and spread it evenly.

Results:
We have been using it daily for the past few weeks and as a result L doesn't have any rash or any redness at all. She is enjoying our nappy changing routine and doesn't mind the cream at all.
