Little L is 23 months

Oh what a month we had with L!  She is such a little, funny character but those tantrums she has are exhausting! We thought that it's troublesome twos, all those "I want this now", "no, I will do it myself", "no, no, no" are a part of our daily life now, but sleepless night or really early wakings were the worst. Eventually we found out that L is teething, you can never tell when she is..

Apart from little tantrums we had lots of cuteness, singing, twerking and talking!
I need to make a list of the words, phrases she says, my favourite by far is "fower" for flower!
During the day when it's just me and L I try to encourage more Russian than English but every single time she visits her grandparents she would say something new in English.

She finally started to recognise colours and fruits and veggies, L wouldn't necessarily name them but would point out. Counting is another activity we do, whilst I prepare porridge for L, I count spoons up to 5 and repeat it over and over again for her, so far L knows how to say "five" in Russian.

Clothing wise L fits into some 9-12, 12-18 and 18-24, few weeks ago I decided to buy new clothes from 2-3 years but I think bought too many dresses even though I'm a fan of more practical items- leggings, trousers and tops.

Potty training is not very successful for now, before bedtime L goes on a potty but nothing happens. I'm hoping that a change of scene might help, we are going to Russia soon and that might encourage her to learn more Russian words and potty training (if my mum helps).

Wish us luck :-)

Little L is 22 months

L has changed so much, she is like a sponge taking all in and then converts it into her own baby babble mixed language.

We have been doing some activities outside the house as I feel that she needs to interact with other kids now more so than she was younger. It is a little bit difficult as times as I don't know old rhymes, I speak Russian with her only so when we are around English speaking I feel embarrassed for speaking Russian but it's the only way she will learn my mother tongue.

She repeats words she hears, not all of them but the ones she picks are mainly English but I do understand her more now, so does she.

Still not very good with food, few days we had when L had a
small nibble and nothing more, the constipation she has from time to time doesn't help either but Lactolose is always handy.

I have been planning her 2nd birthday party for ages- party theme, party favours, decorations etc, but I have stopped myself from spending any money as we are expecting only close family and friends so there is no need really for splashing out, plus no one pays attention!

Potty training is hit and miss, I should introduce it more during the day but sometimes just forget about it and only do potty time before bed. Yesterday evening we had another wee and I'm very happy about our little progress.

Tooth brushing seems to be hit and miss too, we had few weeks where L wouldn't make any noise and happily accept my helping hand but for the past few weeks it was a nightmare.

L's personality is ever changing, few weeks ago L would be outgoing and sharing toys, this and last week she would hold my hand and want me to take her to places and people, I have also heard that she is asking daddy where's mummy gone or keep talking about me if I'm upstairs.
She wants other kids' toys, wants it all now, we had few tantrums with sitting on the floor and not wanting to go into the pushchair, but I'm used to it now. I will always explain to L if she was wrong and praise if she was good, better take that Reward box out.

Clothing wise L still fits in 18-24, some odd bits size 9-12 months can fit her too if they are stretchy and I have started to buy lots of dresses for 2-3, I don't even know why, sometimes dresses are so not practical, but pretty!

Little L is 21 months

Little L is growing way too fast for my liking. Couple of days ago my husband watched me and L and said that I look at her with pure love and admiration.
Her stubbornness is something my husband and I are trying to deal in our own ways.
We have been to a local event for new mums and mums-to-be and L behaved really well, I could never imagine that she would calmly stand by my side. As always she was a little bit stalky with kids, but she just loves to interact with them.

Cleaning teeth used to be a bit of a nightmare as L would refuse to do it herself, but it seems that few times in a naughty corner (by the wall) with a further explanation why she is there and what she needs to do helped and if she is messing with a toothbrush she will then allow me to clean teeth properly, hopefully it stays that way!

Sleeping wise we had couple of good afternoon naps where L didn't need me in a room and slept on her own for hour and a half, it is still hit and miss but I do hope it will be something permanent in the nearest future. Night sleeps though are hit and miss as well, we had couple of weeks of evenings L-free (she wakes up at 11pm and then I put her in our bed), and recently she started to wake up again, in that case I would carry her downstairs so that she can sleep in my arms.

Overall, apart from tantrums and not wanting to leave the place, toys, sit in a pushchair, need to be carried I really enjoy L's company!

Little L is 20 months

Couple of days ago L found old videos on my phone from when L was 5-6 months, only after watching these videos I have realised that because I see L 24/7 I don't notice how much she has grown and changed! She is no independent in a way, cheeky, naughty, adventurous and I love her more and more each day!

For the past few weeks L started to test us and show her temper as well as show doing silly things like jamming hands in the door, trying to reach for crockery and cutlery. I have put L into a naughty corner aka by the door explaining why she is there and it seems to do a trick, but according to my mother-in-law these are not real tantrums yet...

Sleeping and eating didn't change much but I try to adjust to it and rather than to push myself to a breaking point.

We have viewed another nursery, which had much better space inside, but rubbish garden area and the days when I wanted to take L to nursery were fully booked so it's a "no". I have learned one things about L though- she is very sociable and not shy at all. She was singing and dancing when nursery nurse put the music on, we might have a little performer!!

Another great month with my darling daughter, can't wait to do some Easter activities with L!

Little L is 19 months

L seems to be growing so quickly, some days I just stop doing things for a second to inhale her breath, smell, to watch how she babbles away. She can be naughty one minute and then back to her cuteness. My husband says that I should be strict with her but when I see her cute, little face I forgive her for all the naughty things she does. I prefer to give her the freedom of exploring things to a degree of course rather than to constantly telling her 'No'.

Last week or so I have asked mums with babies of similar age how many words their kids say, as I was worried that L is behind. But our babies are so similar in one thing are completely different in other, some would say 50 words others just a few. For the past couple of days I have noticed that L tries to say colours, or objects she sees, but it doesn't come out the right way I guess due to learning 2 languages at a time. Her favourite word if the week is "NO", she would say 'No' to everything we ask or say.

She likes to run back and forth and crawl with daddy, likes and laughs when we kiss her tummy, thighs, likes when we sniff her feet and will try to do the same herself. Always goes to the mirror when trying something new on, closes her eyes when pretending to hide/be invisible, says 'bye-bye to people and blows kisses to my mum via Skype, says "baby" when sees a baby or a child and most importantly likes to dance and sing!

Eating is not very great for the past week or so. She still eats crumpet and half of banana as a morning snack, followed by porridge and yougurt, for lunch I offer soup, chicken (or other meat) slices, bread or toasty but she would insist on eating fruit and veg pouches instead. I try to offer her food she didn't finish for snack, which means she may not eat dinner. It's s never ending battle I'm losing all the time.

I seem to think that L is 12 months old and had few failed attempts at trying to fit her into 12-18 months clothes.

Thankfully we didn't have teething troubles for a month or so now, but I have noticed that she puts her hand in a mouth more often now.

We haven't been up to much this month, as it's so cold and miserable we like to cuddle in bed in the morning which is lovely but means we are missing all toddler classes, why in earth they start so early?!

I have started to think about nursery for L as it will help me to have a breather and do my things and of course it would be good for L's socialising. I'm also planning to start swimming lessons with L but as it's so windy and cold I'm delaying it till it gets warmer.

I need to start thinking of how to move L into her cot permanently and maybe to swap sleeping bag with a duvet, she seems to be kicking her sleeping bag off at night.

Any advice on how to gently transfer co-sleeping toddler into the cot?

Little L is 18 months

Just before Christmas we caught a cold that meant that most of the time we spent in a miserable mood and L didn't really want to eat or play or do anything else apart from being attached to me.

L is being her extremely active self and won't sit still for long, won't be interested in a book or a toy for more than 5 minutes, which to me sounds normal as I'm used to it, but some say that I should discuss this with a doctor.

Lots of months of stress about L's eating habits caught up on me this month as L lost her interest in eating soups for lunch. Normally I would make vegetable soup for her with different types of meat but the older she gets the more she wants to eat independently and normally it ends in lots of tears as I insist on eating and L insist on holding a spoon herself, which I don't mind. Once I give her a spoon she would mess with the food and won't eat it. We have tried distrusting her, eating on my lap instead of highchair but nothing seems to be working..

Any advice on how we can tackle eating issue?

Little L is 17 months

Little L has changed a lot in the past month, she is more adventurous and does things or tried to reach for things which she is not allowed to touch.
But apart from being super naughty she is also incredibly cute and it's not biased!
Her hair has grown so much as well and I have tried elastic bands and different bows but L just will take them off no matter what!

Weight wise she has gained 400g in few months which to me seems not much but health visitor tried to reassure me that it's normal weight gain and that she can only fit the food same size as her fist.

Teeth- L had all 4 canines coming through on one week, 3 are out and 4 is still on the way.

Clothing- L fits in 12-18 months clothing, some of them are a little bit long but it just means that it will last her longer.

Character- she is more active than I have ever been, and according to my mother-in-law she has taken it form her father. She likes to sing randomly and to dance, would recognise English nursery rhymes despite of me speaking Russian with her and will point at her neck or head when listening to "Head and shoulder, knees and toes". L keeps dragging me to places/rooms by holding my hand or finger when wants to show something or wants me to point at things but has also started to tell me that she is L, point at In the night garden characters and other things she will recognise. She generally speaks/babbles in her own language but will say few words in Russian or English.

Toys: L has all sorts of toys- Mega blocks, rubber bricks, soft toys, ball pit and will play with them if we are in the room or by herself which isn't very often, but I'm sure one day she will be more independent.

Little L is 16 months

L is changing so much, and it is getting more and more interesting with her. As it's autumn- a time of colourful leaves and pumpkins, I thought it would be great to introduce different colours and shapes by showing L different leaves and maybe playing with them a little.

I'm trying to do different activities with L at home and when out- messy play, colouring, playing with kitchen pans, going for walks as I believe it keeps us busy as most of the groups are at times when L is sleeping plus it helps with her development.

L started to repeat words and sounds we say, points at things she recognises or wants to know what the are, takes my hand and points at things she want me to say for her. She likes to play with different balls and makes a funny meow like noise when playing or when sees cats (she likes cats a lot). When hears or sees dogs she tries to say "wuf-wuf", but it comes out as "f-f", which is very cute!

This month I was trying to give L more food, but she is not a great eater so that was touch. She has milk when wakes up, a little bit of banana and crumpet once we are downstairs and porridge and hour later; once she wakes up from her nap she has milk and soup, and in the evening she will have meat or fish with rice/spaghetti/cous cous and a little bit of cucumber, but most of the food will be on the floor. I would love her to put more weight but I don't want to force the wood to the point when she doesn't want it as it makes her cry. For the last couple of days she is off her rice and seem to eat less during dinner, I think teething affecting her eating habits.

Little L is 15 months

L has changed so much this month! She speaks in her own language a lot starts first thing in the morning even with her eyes shut and stops when is very tired! I love it! But it's not just babbling, she makes weird but extremely cute noises with her tongue which we all repeat after her.

She figured out how to unscrew and open all the creams and other toiletries, would play at the bottom of the stairs and sneakily take things out  of or puts things inside my coat's pockets.
Would play or hide in the space between the door and sofa, likes to close herself in the pantry and open the draws with her food or cutlery (they are on a lock though). Last week I caught her hiding in a wardrobe, all I could see her feet and her looking at me through a gap between doors so cute!
L has 2 faces she likes to pull- flutters her eyelashes or looks very cross at someone, where she even learnt that!)
This month I have introduced messy play and some arts and crafts into our routine, L doesn't show much interest with craft yet but she loves to splash in baked beans and flour!

Teeth: L has 12 teeth and I can see top 3's are coming through.
Clothing: L fits in some of her 9-12 months outfits and 12-18 months outfits. Some of them are either to long or too wide for her so I try to combine and work with what we have.

Sleep: we weaned L off her afternoon nap, I thought it would be easy as just not letting her sleep but at first she was very tired in the evening without it so I have moved her morning nap to 4 hours later after she woke up rather than 3 and it seems to work the trick! She has days when she would be yawning but I try to play with her or take her for a walk. As she has 1 nap a day it seems that her sleeping in the night has slightly improved (touch the wood) she would go down between 7:30-8pm and would wake up once, on odd occasion she won't settle so I take her downstairs to sleep her in my arms.

Breastfeeding: we are still breastfeeding! L didn't have a single drop of formula in her life and I'm very proud of what I have achieved in these 15 months! This is the best bonding experience I have ever had with L and I don't want to stop!

Eating: L would have breast milk first thing in the morning, then a snack consisting of a toast or crumpet and half of banana and then a bowl of porridge an hour before she goes for a nap. When she wakes up I would offer my breast again followed porridge or soup with meat or fish and 2 vegetable and fruit pouches. In the evening she would have pasta, couscous or rice (rice is her fav) and meat or fish again followed by pouches.
It seems like a lot but actually she would throw most of the things on the floor rather than eat them.

Little L is 14 months

This month wasn't any different to the previous one. It seems that L reached her main milestones and evolving into a toddler.

Poor little L was teething most of the time and now she has 10 teeth which is great.
Clothing wise she is still small for 12-18 months outfits, but big for 9-12 months. I try to mix and match sizes, shame she didn't have a chance to wear all her short sleeve t-shirts.
Sleep is still a pain for us, in the evening she would sleep half an hour on her own and then will wake up crying. In order for me to get on with my evening I carry her downstairs and she sleeps in my arms up until I'm ready to go to sleep, it is not ideal but it's better than spending hours trying to put her to sleep.

L had her first holiday abroad, I was dreading the 4 hour flight, little did I know that we will have a 4 hour delay as well. L's routine was totally messed up because of that but overall she was a trouper!
We bought hands and feet casting kit, now just need to remember to use it! Can't wait!

Little L is 13 months

It seems that in the past month L had a massive development leap. She is not a baby anymore, she is a little human!

At her birthday party she had lots of fun with a ride on toy, which she used as a walker. Since then I thought that I would keep it in the house to encourage her walking. I have previously walked with L whilst holding her hands, but the ride on toy and dandelions in our garden encouraged her to walk! In a weeks time we had a walking baby (12.5 months) instead of crawling!
Teething seems to be a non- stop here, L has 9,5 teeth and I can feel couple more re coming through. Canine and molar teeth are definitely the worst so far, as I have never seen L in so much pain and not being able to cope with it.
Few weeks ago I have bough Russian language flashcards for L to learn the words and recognise objects. L tries to repeat in her own way flower, blue, this one, woof-woof (more as fuf), yum yum, some of the words she said only once and others she tries to repeat on a daily basis.
She loves cats and dogs and every time she sees a picture with a cat or a kitten shows her excitement.
L started to hate pushchair and wants to walk, which is a bit of a problem if we need to be out and about, she pulls the straps or tries to wiggle her way out of them and tries to stand. She tried it once in a trike which almost gave me a heart attack.

L is very adventurous. She likes to "hang out" on a sofa by the window seal in the living room, I had to take cushions off the sofa as it was more dangerous than leaving them on. L was caught whilst she tried to climb the stairs, hence we have a stair gate in place now. Cupboards locks were "hacked" by L, I have found cheap locks on ebay so far so good. Today she was caught trying to put by pumps on and just adores trying to put all clothing items on her head.

I really like how she changed, it feels so much easier, better not because I know what to do (that as well), but because she is more "readable".
My love for L is mega massive, my heart melts when I see her cry, smile, sleep. I love her so much and I do hope she is happy and feels loved.

Little L is 12 months

Our little L turn 1 on Tuesday, hot weather reminded me how poor newborn L struggled with heat last year.
We had a photo session on Monday and only after looking at the photos I realised how much she changed!

L is not just a cheeky, stubborn, beautiful infant, she is incredibly clever and learned how to get to forbidden places and unzip the make up bag.

She is cutting more teeth her 9th is almost there and now struggling a little bit with 10th and 11th.

L likes daddy a lot and would wave goodbye when he is leaving for work and to anyone leaving for that matter. She has lots of toys but prefers zips, ribbons, tissues, key rings over toys.

Still addicted to me and won't let go in the morning when I need to cook breakfast or when I need to do things.

L sleep is still not perfect, she wouldn't sleep if I'm not there with her stroking her tummy until she falls asleep and then I have to tiptoe as we have creaky floorboards, she then wakes up an hour later or will sleep till about 12 am and then I will move her into my bed. Entirely my fault for not letting L get used to noises. Wakings are very early these days around 6:50-7:00 with 2 naps a day, which I am happy about.

We try to encourage L's walking and talking but so far we have one off words like hi, girl, daddy, mama, lots of baby babble in general which I love and so far L mastered 3 steps.

Can't wait to see what the next month brings us!

Little L is 11 months

I can't believe that in less than a month L will be 1!!

Development/milestones/character: L is quite a character! She could be cuddly and smiley one second and then changes to a little active munchkin, by active I mean she has enormous amount of energy! She wants to be picked up quite often or just won't let go of me or my leg. Recently I have noticed that she will interrupt my telephone conversations and will start crying until I stop chatting on a phone. I have absolutely no problem with her being clingy if that's what she wants then so be it. I do leave her in her playroom when I need to do things but she won't last long on her own and will play longer if I'm there.
Last weekend I have witnessed L making her first 3 steps! I wasn't holding her just securing with my arm at the front and she made 3 steps!
Apart from being a little energiser bunny, L is ticklish on her chest which is so cute! She started to wave good bye and is interested in ribbons, zips, boxes, sticks more than her own toys and loves cartoons and dancing!

Sleep: it's always a roller coaster for us. For the past 2 weeks it changed from very good to not so good. As she has a cold for few weeks now she won't soothe herself to sleep like she used to and will nap for no more than 30 minutes if in cot and then will cry and need soothing. We have to tiptoe when leaving the room otherwise she will wake up. Just when I thought that L is ready to move to the nursery everything went downhill. For the past couple of days L won't nap in the morning, she will literally nod off for a minute and then happy and awake as if nothing happened! I'm not sure yet if it's a new routine change and will have to monitor it for the next few weeks.

Clothing: L is still wearing 6-9 months outfits (depending on a brand) and fits in some 9-12 months outfits but generally they are too long

Feeding: L is nursing first thing in the morning, then around 11-12, then around 3 and last time before bed time.

Teeth: L still has 8 teeth and seems like we have a little break from teething, phew (touch wood)!

Little L is 10 months

Oh my, L changed so much this month!

Teeth: she has 4 top and 4 bottom teeth, the last 2 months were hard as she was teething and having cold most of the time

Behaviour: she is a proper little madam. If she doesn't like something she will tilled her had back and start crying or would go for the same thing over and over again. L is advanced crawler now and our house looks like a mess as she pulls everything-CDs and DVDs from TV stand, everything from the sofa, everything underneath the coffee table, on a walker, on a chair etc and she bites!
L is a very musical baby few times now she was singing to a song (in her own way of course) and she loves dancing-she holds 2 hands together and either goes from side to side or locked hands go up and down, very cute to watch!
Also L likes new clothes, I bought her a tutu skirt for her first birthday party and she likes to look at it and touch it and will be always excited if sees new item of clothing, proper girl!

Development/milestones: she has Lamaze soft stacking rings which she likes a lot and we go through colours every time and I have also started to ask her to give me rings or other toys, which sometimes she does when I ask her or when she just wants to share a toy.
No walking here yet, but she likes to stand and to walk around coffee table whilst holding on to it. I have also tried to hold her hands to she if she can walk but it looks a bit clumsy.

Sleep: we were struggling quite a bit with sleep as teething messed the sleeping route. I was left with no choice but to try controlled crying again, I still try to rub her tummy to make it less stressful, she seems to be getting used. Last week we were away in Wales and L slept quite good at night, but since we are back home every night is a bit of a struggle, again! She wakes up all the time, the only thing that can calm her down is my boob. I know health visitors and sleeping experts say that I need to drop night feeds but it's the only thing that works for us!

Clothing: L is still wearing 6-9 outfits as 9-12 are a little bit too long for her.

Feeding: I am breastfeeding and not planning to drop any of the feeds on top of that she has 3 meals and is very fussy. We have tried different meaty pouches and pots but she is very specific with what she will eat. L eats bananas now as she is not constipated anymore, yay! Likes rice, fluffy potatoes, spaghetti and mango!

Oh, forgot the most important bit, L changed a lot in the last 2 weeks. I was told that at 9 months babies like to be more independent, no way! She is so clingy, I used to leave her in the travel cot in the morning whilst I was preparing my breakfast now she won't stay there! She wants me and me only!

Little L is 9 months

My little girl is the whole 9 months old! Last month was full of new milestones and I couldn't be happier for L being such a good girl and so mature in a way.

L is still under 7 kg, but has breast milk throughout the day as well as 3 meals.
I have previously mentioned that she tried to "sing" with daddy, she keeps doing it from time to time as well as wiggles which I think is a way of dancing if she recognises the song.

Most of the month L struggled with teething and our routine is all messed up, but I try to be led by L and just follow the signs. Little L now has 4 teeth (2 top and 2 bottom) and since yesterday another set of top 2 teeth are coming through. I feel so sorry for her couple of days ago she was in so much pain that couldn't sleep during the day or night, thankfully paracetamol kicked in and after a very long day she fell asleep.

My little munchkin has finally started to crawl! I thought that she will be like mummy and will walk and not crawl, even though it looks a little bit clumsy sometimes as if she is dragging her own legs but she is very into crawling now! And not only that, she is standing and according to in-laws tried to do few steps!

I am so happy to have her in my life and seeing her grow and develop!

Little L is 8 months

My little baby girl is 8 months, only for 4 months until she is 1!! It is crazy, how to stop the time?!

Last month we were tackling sleeping/napping in a cot, I was so happy about how L slept in the evening and jinxed it. She has a minor sniffles and was teething hence wasn't in the mood to follow any routines, since then it will take her ages to nod of in the evening, so we are back to square one!

L is not into jumperoo anymore, but she would stay for quite some time in a travel cot and in her activity room. Yes L has her own activity room, as now we have a spare dining room, which we never used and living room is incredibly small I thought that L needs lots of space to play and hopefully crawl. Last week I have moved few bits, put few boxes in a garage to make some space, ordered large play mats and even with a little mess on a table it looks lovely ans spacious!

I don't think L wants to crawl, she is trying to reach for toys but would go backwards and not forward. She is making more and more attempts to stand on me, in a cot, on a floor if I'm holding her, I am seriously thinking about investing in a walker!

My darling daughter keeps saying "mama-mama", "nana", "baba", "da" all depends on a day or her mood. Last weekend she surprised me a lot when started singing/repeating after daddy, it was only for few seconds but she was 100% in tune!

Clapping is another milestone, she is not advanced at it, but she would try to clap when playing, happy or sees daddy.

I have read 8 months updates of other blogger's babies who say that they can see their babies have toddler personality. I don't see this in L, she is still tiny and behaving like a baby, she is stubborn though, will have a tantrum if I'm not letting her play with adult toys (laptop, wires), but she is still my little baby girl!

Little L is 7 months

I must be saying it every time but I can't believe that L is 7 months!
She can sit up unaided, but can't pull herself upright from lying position, she can stand mainly on us. L also attempts to move backwards and not really keen on crawling which made me think that she won't crawl just like mummy didn't.

L likes touching different surfaces, tags, buttons, bags, pull mummy's hair, daddy's zip on a hoodie and pull his glasses.
I am obsessed with L and feel so uncomfortable when have to leave her with someone else, thankfully we do it only once a week when go shopping at no more than for an hour.

This month L tried her first fromage frais and looks like she doesn't mind it, L also tried her first snacks- biscuits and rice cakes. She eats solids but hates lumpy food and will gag which makes me a little bit nervous. L is not very adventurous with solids and tasting new things but I don't mind I'm sure when she is ready she will eat for England.

And most importantly- my little darling daughter said "mamama", so cute!

Little L is 5 months

I can't believe L is 5 months!! We've been through lack of sleep, lack of time, arguments, doubts, crying, smiles, poonamy, rolling back and forth, touching toes and lots more.
As L is tiny comparing to other babies her age, she is now dropped to 2nd centile line, I thought that 5 months is the best time to introduce solids. She is showing the interested in what we eat or drink and gets upset if I'm not sharing a glass of water with her. She is obsessed with bottles especially if they have something inside, every time she sees a bottle she wants to grab it and every time she sees a glass of water she holds it with 2 hands if I give it to her and pretends to drink.

Her 2 bottom teeth are pretty much there for everyone to see, so weird to see these changes. L has all signs of teething- has rash on her body and face, grumpy and has odd days of long naps . We have tried Dentinox and now testing Anbesol, but none of these seem to work.

Sleep during the day or night has been the main issue for me this month, she won't fall asleep on her own, for the past couple of weeks it happened just once, when I try to calm her and then leave the room she starts crying, it either takes us hours or she falls asleep and wakes up at 10 pm ready to be entertained.
I thought that when we move house and start solids she will sleep better, I was fooling myself. Health visitor suggested to put L in a cot with a comforter, we have previously tried comfort blanket and my pillow- it never worked, but I'm willing to try it again. Health visitor's method is slightly different to mine, I used to sleep with comforter so that it smells of me or put it in my bra and then leave it next to L in her cot, health visitor suggested to have comforter with us at all times, few days later to try and leave L on her own in a cot but with the comforter, apparently it can take 3-4 days and it should work. Fingers crossed!

It is fascinating to watch L grow and develop! Sometimes she is lifting her hand and looking at it from a different angle or when she is trying to roll but one of the arms is on the way or her weird laughter if something is incredibly funny or weird noises she makes!

I think I'm obsessed with her, can't help myself but we are so attached to each other that I don't trust anyone with her. She sees her grandparents, aunties and cousin but I worry a lot about her playing on a cold wooden floor or her being to close to cats or too close to someone smoking or coughing. I feel overprotective and full of love towards her!

Little L is 3 months

Oh where do I start.

L changed so much! She is still my little baby and since last weigh in put only 400 grams in a month.

We have finished a 5 weeks course of baby massage. The most successful session so far was the first one. As I feed her every 2 hours it is sometimes impossible to fit in activities or to make sure she won't be grumpy. Last session was yesterday and the whole session I was rocking her to sleep as she got tired while we were waiting for other mums to come.
L definitely started teething, at first I wasn't sure and didn't want to give her any medications till I'm certain. But as all signs are there- dribbling, fists in her mouth, chewing on toys and of course fussiness I started giving her Dentinox. I didn't work out yet if it helps, but she seems to enjoy licking it from my finger.

L also started to lift herself up by herself or whilst holding on to my fingers.

Few days ago she tried to kiss me, it was more of a smothering her dribble kiss, but it was the best first mummy and daughter kiss.
I swear L talks!! On Saturday she was smiling at me and answering "Yeah" when  I asked her about things she did with grandparents, yesterday my husband asked her something and she said "Yeah" again!!

L has blocked tear duct for few weeks now, some days her eye will be teary with a crust on her eyelashes or a gooey stuff inside the eye.
On Saturday we had to call 111 and then to book an appointment in out of hours clinic to see a doctor as her belly button had a dry crust as well and looked fairly inflamed/infected. I panicked as I thought that it's my fault somehow, that maybe it's connected to her infected eye. Thankfully it is nothing to worry about and now we have a cream for her belly button and drops for eyes.

In couple of weeks we are going away for 3 nights, it's L's first local holiday. Apart from her first holiday last month she have been to the airport, shop, county park for the first time as well. We also used baby carrier for the first time. She likes to look around, very excited about new things, so carrier comes in handy and L doesn't mind it.
Clothing wise L just moved from sleepsuits size 0-3 months to 3-6 months as her legs and feet are getting longer.

Routine wise during the day she can sleep till 8 am or 10 am then feed, play, sleep. She constantly wants to be picked up, I think I gave up and just let us go with a flow rather than being strict hence L is always in my arms. She is more fussy at night, she turns her head on a side and cries in this position which worries me a lot and I constantly try to check if she is breathing ok.

I'm more confident as a mum, but yet a worrier. Last month I had severe back pain, I couldn't pick L up, couldn't actually sleep, sit, walk, it was incredibly painful. As I'm 24/7 with L I needed a quick fix, thankfully my sister recommended a local osteopath. Straight after an appointment I felt much better, but after lifting L in a pram my pain was back. I had to cut out on heavy lifting and it seems to work. Hopefully it is sorted permanently!
There is something else that upsets me- hair loss.. Other mums say it's normal, but I feel so upset about it. I have tried coconut oil on my hair they are definitely more silky, will just have to see if it helps with hair loss.

That's it for now.. And I'm looking forward what new 3rd month brings!

Little L is 7 weeks

We are finally sleeping in her Clair de Lune moses basket again ( I reviewed it here). At the beginning of the week I decided to give it a go, first night L wasn't sleeping very well, but then I started putting hot water bottle in a moses basket before she was ready to sleep and it worked.
Every morning we try to have some tummy time, I can't say that little one lifts herself just yet but I'm sure we are getting there.
Sometimes it is a bit difficult to guess what her crying means, but we sort of have a routine during the day: she wakes up, tummy time in the morning, feeds, plays on her mat, sleeps and the same thing over and over again.
She is off drinking from a bottle at the moment, I have tried MAM and Vital baby both of them have a fast flow even though not suppose to as they are for newborns, Avent is opposite, but she is not into it either so every time we go for a walk I take a bottle with us and a breastfeeding cover.
If you remember I have mentioned before that L has green stool (poo explosions), this week I had a telephone consultation with a doctor as I wasn't sure if her green stool is a result of colic, we will have results in a week just in time for her 8 weeks check and immunisation.

We have sadly lost one of L's favourite toys- blue doggy somewhere in the house, thought I would never say that but we just have way too much stuff for a small house we live in.
