Review: Baby Born Play & Fun bike

Few weeks ago we had a surprise delivery for L who couldn't believe her eyes when she saw Baby Born Play & Fun bike (£24.99). I think L wanted her own toy bike for quite some time now as showed an interest in helping me push her trike pretending that she is looking after her little baby.

The bike itself is is suitable from 3 years old and is a toy version of a push along bike/trike with stabilisers, pedals and handlebar with straps keeping feet and hands in place as well as a comfy seat which secures the doll (can be purchased separately) with a velco belt and last but not the least a colour changing toy on a front wheel.

Play & Fun bike comes almost assembled and with batteries, all you need to do is attach the handle bar at the back, a rubber duck horn onto the handlebar and bottle at the front of the bike.

L didn't hesitate to test the bike, she put her undressed Baby Born onto the bike whilst testing the colour changing toy at the front, security straps and cute flag with the duck on. 

I always say that kids are way more aware of things rather than adults for instance with this toy it took me ages to work out how to switch the light on, in fact it didn't work when I tested it, where is L figured this out and "fixed" it in few seconds!

We took Baby Born Play & Fun bike to play outside and have used it plenty of times at home. I like that the bike is of a great quality, cute look and accessories that can be used with it or used on its own, how L uses it for her imaginative play and gets excited every time the bike appears, very easy to use and push by a toddler, it is certainly a toy that will last us and in general a while. Having said that I would have preferred the bike to be slightly heavier than the doll and maybe a more longer or adjustable handle would work better for the kids of different heights and ages. 

The bike is a great addition to our Baby Born collection and would make a great gift for a doll lover!

Review: Noddy's remote control car from Spinmaster

Couple of weeks ago my darling L has received new Noddy remote control car (£23.99) to test. I remember seeing something Noddy related online but haven't actually read a book or watched cartoon. For those who don't know who Noddy is, it's a book character who lives in Toyland and up for an adventure or challenge.

Noddy remote control car is a toddler friendly toy as suitable from 2 years old. Noddy itself is made of rubber material and permanently attached to the car's seat where as the car and remote control are made of plastic. From what I have seen online Noddy and car called Revs look very similar to book characters.

Now to the main features:

- the car and remote control are both battery operated (require 7 AAA batteries which are not included)

- car's headlight will light up if the button at the back of the car is pressed

- remote control has 2 musical buttons (backwards and forward) suitable for little hands to press

L only needed few attempts to understand that she needs to press one button at a time. Once one of the buttons is pressed the toy makes engine or horn alike noises. I would have never thought that remote control car can be suitable for toddlers but with it's easy to press buttons it makes operating a car a doddle. Noggy (that's how L calls Noddy) has been thoroughly tested by L and thankfully survived it all. 

We couldn't find any faults with the toy, it seems very durable, fun to play with and I like it's lively, bright colours. The only downside for us as parents was the amount of batteries required, I managed to find 7 AAA batteries but it would be so much better if at at least 3 or 4 of them were already included.

Apart from batteries and for those who can't afford to invest Noddy by itself makes a great toy, L likes playing with it, pretending that she is helping Noddy to drive his red and yellow vehicle and by placing new characters onto the back seat of the car. I wonder what adventures lie ahead for Noddy and L..

Review: Wooden click clack track

When L was a little bit younger she used to put a coin or something small through the back of the ironing board and would watch it slide through different sections, something so simple yet so mesmerising! 
I have came across few alternative but only decided to buy one after seeing it's bigger version in L's nursery. I wanted for L to have fun with a real toy as well as help her to make positive associations with the nursery, and that's how I bought her wooden click clack track from Amazon (£9.95). 

The toy is a little bit smaller than I expected and comparing to the bigger one at the nursery (my fault for not checking dimensions: 28cm x 24.5cm x 10cm), but ideal size if you don't have too much space/running out of toy free space. 

The toys itself is suitable from 18 month old, with it being wooden and not to heavy L was able to lift it and carry form one place to another. The toy consists of 4 colourful tracks and 4 little cars (included in the box). Principal is very simple- use 1 or several mini cars from the set by placing them on the top (red) track and watch and listen to them slide or click clack along the way down from the track onto the ground. 

L and I have tried different fun combinations of using the toy- set all 4 cars off at the same time (potentially can get stuck if released at the same time), release each car from different track, push the car down from the lower track, push the car down from the track which colour coordinates with it, don't think we can try anything else but it was very fun to discover what works better.

L has been using the toy since August and seems to be enjoy using it or playing with mini cars. It may have a scratch or two but nothing major and it won't affect the use at all. You don't have to be a liker of cars or to be a boy to enjoy the wooden click clack track.

Review: Baby Einstein Discover and Play Piano

L is a very musical child and I do hope it's all due to our efforts and musical toys we have been buying for her.

When L was 5,5 months she has received Baby Einstein Discover and Play Piano (£20) for her 1st Christmas.

The toy's base is made of plastic but piano keys are soft and easy to press for little fingers or toes. 

Baby Einstein piano main features:

- 3 modes: instruments, numbers, animals

- suitable for multi-lingual children 

- 3 language modes: English, French and Spanish

- suitable from 3 months old

- plays over 20 classical tunes 

- volume button to make it louder or to turn it down

- durable but not heavy

Once you have picked the language you can choose a mode and play with keys or use instruments above the keys, depending on a mode they make noises and light up.
                                    
In Instruments mode you can can pick a piano mode, violin or horn mode by pressing one of the buttons above. Once pressed 5 keys will play this particular instrument tunes.

In Numbers mode, each key you or your little one press will say the number from 1 to 5.

In Animal mode you can pick one particular animal by pressing red (for cat), green (dog) or yellow (for duck) buttons above musical keys, once the animal is picked the piano keys will either quack, meow or woof.

I expected that tunes will be annoying and loud but it seems to be quite pleasing to our ear and even if we had too much we can turn it down so that L still can play with it.

It seems to be a hit from day one and 12 months later L still enjoys Baby Einstein Discover and Play Piano, one of the best presents ever!
